Never fear East-Enders! You can get your cheap movie thrills, too!
Welcome back, Alamo Kids Campers.
Each month this summer you’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and you’ll listen to your parents – because they’re the ones taking you on this adventure. But they’ll be happy, because the dues to attend Alamo Kids Camp are minuscule, and they work for any parent’s budget.
ALAMO KIDS CAMP TUITION
Every week, most Alamo Drafthouse locations will feature a daytime screening of one of your favorite movies, and the ticket price is up to your parent: $1, $3, or $5, with 100% of the sales donated to local nonprofits each Alamo Drafthouse chooses.
Since 2015, the Alamo Kids Camp program has sent nearly a half million bucks back into our communities – more than $150,000 last summer alone! Campers, we think we can stomp all over that number this year, but it’s gonna take a lot of movie watching.
ALAMO KIDS CAMP RULES
Most Alamo Kids Camp screenings are for kids age 3 and up, but some locations are All Ages – have your parents check drafthouse.com for local policies. And make sure you tell your brother and sister that unless it’s an Alamo for All screening, Alamo Drafthouse’s no talking/texting policies still apply. Don’t let your noisy cousin ruin it for everyone!
ALAMO KIDS CAMP SCHEDULE
Okay, here’s what we’ve got on the schedule at most locations this summer. Be sure to have your parents check their local theater listings for a full schedule – every location rotates their movies a little differently (and some may offer a different set of films).
Your parents and (plausibly) your grandparents loved Troll dolls, and now so will you.
If you like the Donkey, then when you’re much older you should look up the guy who played the Donkey and watch the movies he made in the 1980s.
Based on the classic from Dr. Seuss and packed with great ideas that we really hope your generation cares a lot about.
Chances are you can probably get your film nerd uncle to bring you to this one. Campers, have you ever seen a grown man with a full beard sob?
