I love family pictures. I actually hate getting my picture taken (shocker: I still look like me), but after getting my cancer diagnosis I realized how precious pictures with my kids are. I’m going to stop explaining there so no one starts crying (like me).
Melisa Pasero Photography contacted me about doing pictures for a review and I was all about it because my baby brother (he’s the REALLY tall one) and his wife just welcomed my first niece, who is the most adorable baby on the planet earth. When I asked Melisa if she’d be willing to shoot my extended family, including the baby, she didn’t even hesitate, which I knew meant that she either had serious skills or was a little crazy. Taking pictures of 10 people in 3 family groups including a 4 month old can not be any easy thing.
It turns out, she’s got skills.
Melisa met us at Cloverdale Park and walked us back to a section that I somehow never investigated during years of softball practices. She had a list of various family combinations, and was totally flexible around my niece’s mood. When the baby was happy, she was in shots. If she needed a second, she moved down the list to ones without her.
PS- how freaking adorable is my niece y’all?
My kids are pretty cute, too. But they don’t coo at me and make adorable baby giggle sounds, which is good because that’d be really weird for my almost-14-year-old son to do. But still. She’s so cute!
Awwww, look at that! She got them to hug each other! Nevermind, they’re cute, too. And they don’t make me wake up every 3 hours to eat. I guess I’ll keep them 🙂
I really appreciated that Melisa was both super-prepared with a list of combinations and super-flexible with things we decided on the fly. For example, we did this shot on the bridge of my family:
And then my brother and sister-in-law wanted one, too. Not a problem, she just made it work. I know that such a big group must be a challenge, but she really did do an amazing job, both with family shots, like this one of grammy, papa, and the grandkids, as well as individuals and couples. She got all three of my kids on their own
As well as getting me and my hubby, who, as you know if you’ve followed me for more than 5 seconds, is my favorite person on earth. He’s the best. Look at how adorable he is!!
