Make Your Family’s Summer Memorable – By Eliut Morales
Do you have your family’s summer planned out?
Some families like knowing in advance what summer will be like for their family. Others like to live in the moment and be spontaneous. No matter how your family likes to enjoy their summer, here are a few ideas and tips to help you make it a memorable one!
It may be tough to find a summer activity that your entire family will enjoy, but if there’s one that’s bound to make everyone happy, it’s a day at the pool! A simple trip to the pool can turn into a family event. Aside from bringing the essential sun screen, towels, and umbrellas, look for local pools near picnic areas or parks that allow food. A pool day followed by a picnic filled with new recipes and snacks can become a family tradition in no time.
Look for facilities that offer group pricing and invite your friends and neighbors. Who knows, you may even start a new neighborhood tradition!
On July 4 starting at 6:00pm, free shuttles will be available to take you to Signal Hill Park from Manassas Park City Hall. At the park, you’ll find a variety of food trucks and other family activities. You may also bring your favorite picnic food (no glass containers or alcohol), blankets, and lawn chairs. At dark, we’ll end the event with an amazing fireworks display! Our Fourth of July celebration has always been a popular event and it’s a great opportunity to spend the holiday with all your close friends and family.
We’ll be ending summer with our Glow in the Park after Dark party! Special Events Assistant, Kaitlyn Collier, said, “This is the second year we have this event, but it has quickly become a hit! Members of our community enjoyed the glow-in-the-dark theme and everyone had a blast.”
This event, like the name suggests, will be held at dark. Guests will be given accessories to brighten up their outfits! We’ll have music, disco lights, and other themed games for everyone to enjoy. Glow in the Park After Dark takes place on August 17 and it’s the perfect way to end summer!
These are only a few of the events the Manassas Park Community Center will be hosting this summer. We have many events in store for families. We’re excited to be a part of your family’s summer plans and look forward to creating new memories!
