‘Tis the season for the magic of Herr Drosselmeyer, a Christmas tree that grows from deep within our hearts as part of a fantastical dream, and the herald of music and mice in a great battle scene. A Children’s Nutcracker will be performed by the dancers of Gainesville Ballet School
on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 5 PM. The cast includes both pre-professionals and professionals in its seventh year of production. About 100 students from public, private and home schools across six counties in Northern Virginia will be among those to dance in the 2012 performance. A family tradition for all ages – come celebrate the Kingdom of Sweets this year at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia. In the spirit of the holidays, one family four-pack of tickets will be awarded as a holiday gift to the readers of Prince William County Moms. Gainesville Ballet features local talent from Bristow, Centreville, Front Royal, Gainesville, Haymarket, Manassas, South Riding, Warrenton, Winchester and surrounding areas, with a distinctive style of discipline and grace that radiates from teacher, to student, to community, and beyond. On 6 May, Gainesville Ballet School was honored as Outstanding Arts Organization during the 2012 Seefeldt Awards for Arts Excellence.
