Pediatric Achievements provides Occupational Therapy services for Prince William County.  As any parent knows, the work your child does during the school year can quickly be lost if they don't keep up their skills during the school break.  Pediatric Achievements is offering summer camps aimed at Kindergarten Readiness and Handwriting.  Note that this office does work with children with special needs.  As a momma who's currently teaching handwriting at home to my little ones at varying levels, I can't tell you how valuable a service I think this would be!  Pediatric Achievements is located in the Tackett's Mill Shopping Center.

Here's information from Pediatric Achievements:

Our registration deadline is June 12th and the camps begin the week of June 24th.  They run once a week through the week of August 5th.  We have the following camps:

What in the Heck is VBS Anyway?

I've had a few of you ask me this question.  I do a VBS Guide every year and every year a few people ask me what it is and what your kids do while they're there.

Here's my run-down.

VBS means "Vacation Bible School".  It's essentially amped-up Sunday School, but way "funner".  There are, generally speaking, 3 formats that you'll find at a VBS.

1. Marketplace (if the name of the VBS is the name of a town or country and has "Group Publishing" in the corner, this is what you're doing. Examples include "Galilee By the Sea" and "Rome".) The picture below is from Good Shepherd UMC's Egypt VBS in 2010.  If you sent your child, I was personally responsible for all that eyeliner that you couldn't get off.  :)

2. Traditional Rotation Format (95% of VBS's will follow this one. Examples include "Shake it Up Cafe" and anything from "Cokesbury Publishing")

3. Neighborhood.  (All Saint's Anglican Church is the only one I know of that does this format, but it's an awesome concept.  They adapt a rotation model to be used by a smaller group in a neighborhood so you don't have to schelp your kids to a church.)

Neighborhood models are fairly easy.  Your kid shows up at the appointed place at the appointed time, and the leaders move through the 2ish hours much like a playdate with songs, crafts, and stories.  Check in and check out are normally low-key and you can opt to let your child walk home by themself if you're comfortable.

In traditional and rotational format VBS you'll probably be taking your child to a church.  There will be a check in/check out process and probably somewhere between 75-200 kids participating in groups or "family groups" of between 8-12 kids and 2 leaders.  In Marketplace VBS, the publisher recommends mixed age groups, but I haven't found many churches (if any) that listen.  Pretty much everyone divides the kids up by age and/or grade level.  These groups then travel together to different stations.  In Marketplace VBS's the largest room (a multipurpose gym or the sanctuary) is decorated as a marketplace with crafts, snacks, and other various "period" activities at different booths.  Children are able to wander from booth to booth and spend gold coins.  In rotational VBS, each of these (snack, crafts, etc.) is in a different room and age groups travel from place to place on a schedule.

Here's a typical day.

1. Drop off.  Usually your kid will get a super-awesome T-shirt for their collection of t-shirts to play in! Whoohoo! (Image is of All Saint's Dale City's VBS shirts, from their website)

2.  Then your kid is probably going to enjoy an opening of some kind, usually with a prayer and some ultra-cheesy song with hand motions.  I've been doing VBS for 27 years and I am constantly amazed how much they LOVE these cheesy songs with hand motions. Seriously, they really like them.
3.  They're going to do some crafts.  Usually they have to do with the theme or Bible story of the day (for example, a fish craft to go with Jonah and the whale or a set of panda ears because the theme is "Pandamania")

4.  They're going to have snack.  No worries- the director has flagged everything on your child if they have an allergy and the worst thing that will happen is they'll be given goldfish instead of trail mix because the m&m's may contain peanuts.  Your child will insist they're not that allergic and have m&m's all the time, and will still get the goldfish. Everyone else will be jealous because there are no raisins in the goldfish :)

5.  They're going to play some games.  They might get wet.  This is everyone's favorite station every time.

6.  They're going to hear a story, typically with some kind of awesome prop involved.  Yesterday, we stuffed 20 kids into 2 giant boxes connected to make a whale.  Sardines were involved to give it ambiance.

I know that I come across with a lot of sarcasm, but trust me when I say that kids have a great time, with minor exceptions for things like "I wanted to be line leader today but it's my turn tomorrow".  It's a low-cost way for them to have a great time and you to have a break.  Unless you are a giant sucker like me and can't seem to sign your kids up for VBS without getting sucked into volunteering even though it's not at your church :)

(Secretly, I enjoy the cheesy songs, too....just don't tell)

Summer Bucket List

Published: 07/14/2011

Oh my mommies! I am terribly sorry for not posting this when I said I would.  It's been sitting in my "drafts" section for about a month as I added new ideas, and when we got to last Friday I got so wrapped up in 4th of July and packing for our trip to Pennsylvania that I totally forgot to push "publish".  I do hope you'll forgive me!!

Summer Bucket List 2011
A summer bucket list? Yes! How fun! The idea is that you sit down with your munchkins and decide on a list of things you HAVE to accomplish before summer ends.  They can be educational, trips, crafts, playdates, anything you want! Maybe you want to send artwork to all the grandparents, visit 1 new park each month, and ride a rollercoaster.  Maybe you want to visit an historical site, plant a tree, and learn all the words to livin on a prayer.  Whatever you want to do- write it down and check those suckers off!! It's a great cure for "what are we doing today??" and really fun to accomplish!! Here's my PWC Moms suggested Summer Bucket List for 2011.  With giveaways, of course.  I know how you all love a giveaway!

1. Pick Something.  We personally love to pick berries (especially those free blackberries that grow wild all over Virginia.  Watch for deerflies and pull the car over!) and peaches.  If you've never had a warm from the field peach you do not know what you're missing!!  We particularly love Hartland Orchard for peaches, which will start July 9th.  You drive your car directly into the fields and they give you very nifty baskets on a stick to use to get your fruit.  The more exposed to the sun (think top of the tree) the sweeter and jucier the fruit!! Want more ideas? Try THIS post.

2. Go to a PWC Waterpark.  Splashdown, Veterans, and WaterWorks are all fun!  They all also have affordable options including "playdate" times earlier in the morning and after 4pm prices.  Swimming in the neighborhood pool is great but there's nothing like adding a giant slide to make it a little more fun!! Want to cross this off your list? WaterWorks has given us 2 family 4 packs for after 4pm for lucky readers!

3. Field Trip--DC.  We love the Smithsonian Museums and no summer would be complete without a visit to DC.  We love to plan our trips for weekdays and usually magically find street parking.  However, Metro from Springfield is a really fun option (bonus train ride!) and guarantees you won't have the headache.  Friday mornings until 2pm there is a farmer's market next to the Smithsonian Castle and the USDA provides free children's activities (think planting, digging, crafts and stories) as well as covered picnic seating.  Add that on to your trip for a totally fun (minus transportation) trip!!

4. 2 Words: Bouncy Castles.  Some days it is just too darn hot.  In those cases, we think it's time to head inside for a little inflatable fun.  House of Bounce would like to invite a PWC Moms reader to head over to their place and mark this off their bucket list- and maybe we'll see you there!! There's nothing better than wearing your kids out while you remain air conditioned!!

5. Eat Watermelon for dinner.  We have at least one day in the summer where we come inside completely exhausted and too hot to eat.  It's nights like those we make popcorn and watermelon for dinner.  It has to happen at least once- it's very exciting to have Mom throw the rules out the window.

6. Catch Fireflies.  There is nothing quite as magical as heading out at dusk to catch fireflies in a jar.  (Holes in the lid please- and let them back out before you go in for bed!).  While you're at it, why not join up with Operation Firefly and help determine where all the fireflies have gone.

7. Field Trip- Richmond.  The Children's Museum of Richmond, to be specific!! This incredibly fun museum is adjacent the Science Museum of Richmond and includes everything from creative play to dinosaurs to crafts to biomes.  If you've never been, you've got to go! Under a 2 hour ride and your kids can easily spend the better part of a day playing if they're anything like mine.  C-MOR has offered a free family pack of tickets to their beautiful museum to a PWC Moms reader so they can check this off their bucket list for summer 2011!! Delegate Rich Anderson, VA-51, who in the interest of full disclosure is a friend of our family after having worked on his campaigns, also invites any PWC Moms and their families to join him at the statehouse for a tour.  Call Ryan Galloway, his assistant (and in my experience, follow up with Ryan) to schedule at  571-264-9983

8. Host a Messy Playdate.  I started this tradition years ago when I ran a mom's group, and it's still going strong.  We run banner paper along the back fence and put out plates of fingerpaint.  We put out dishes of flour and buckets of mud.  There's glitter involved.  Water balloons, mud pies, flower planting, tie dying, the brightest colored popsicles you can find- get out anything that is typically forbidden and ask your guests to wear old swimsuits and bring a change of clothes.  Then, turn them loose in your back yard and just hose everything off when you're done- including the kids.  We have a great time each year and you can adapt this playdate to any age group from new-to-tactile infants on up. I bet tweens would love a paint fight.

9. Go to a concert.  Whether you go for free (Leesylvania, Harris Pavilion, and Sean Connaughton Plaza (that ugly 70's looking building when you enter to go to the Potomac Nationals Complex) all host free concerts throughout the summer) or pay to play (Wolf Trap, the Hylton Performing Arts Center and Locust Shade Ampitheatre offer great kid-friendly options)

10.  Read a Classic.  We are of the opinion (this is the royal we here- my kids don't get a choice) that there is a great need for more fine children's literature in the world.  Abandon Junie B. for a minute and read to your kids from a great children's classic like "Trumpet of the Swan", "Charlotte's Web", "Black Beauty", "James and the Giant Peach", "Little House on the Prairie", "Stuart Little", or your personal favorite.  When you're done, be sure to record it to your Summer Quest form and check in at the library each week to claim your prize both for reading and for visiting the library each week this summer season!

11. Climb Something.  While we have some great options more locally, such as Hemlock Overlook in Fairfax, I've always always wanted to head over to the Adventure Park at Sand Springs School. It's the largest aerial forest adventure park in North America, and while it's definitely a field trip, it also looks totally B.A. (and no, I don't mean Bachelor of Arts).  You can join us in this one, too, because the Adventure Park has very generousl offered one PWC Moms reader a Family 4 Pack of Passes.  This would be great for an older kid- they recommend ages 7 and up, but there are restrictions for ages 7-13.  Even your teen could have a great time here, as far as I can guess (remember, I don't have teenagers, so take that with a grain of salt!)

12. Go to the Fair! It goes without saying we have to spend one (horrible, sticky, smoky) day at the fair.  My kids would kill me if we didn't.  We try to stay over in the children's barn and the exhibits as long a we can, and we'll even peek at the monster trucks or tractor pull, but I'm totally in touch with the fact that I'm going to have to buy a funnel cake and ride on the egg beater until I feel sick.  It's just a rule :) We like to watch for the discount days, and don't forget even if you can't bake you can show off your "goods" by entering your child in the beautiful baby contest!

We hope that you have a great summer- and we'd love to hear what your bucket list plans are!! If you're a blogger, link to PWC Moms and share your own bucket list.  Leave us a comment below with the link and what you'd like to win from our list!  If you're not a blogger, you can tag PWC Moms on a facebook status and share what you'd like to win for your own summer bucket list in a facebook note!  Happy Summering!

Help with PW Parks Summer Camps

I really hope this breakdown helps you guys find camp options that work.  A few helpful hints for multiple aged kids:
**Go with SBDCRC if you have multiple ages.  They seem to have the widest age range.**
1) Look for funky times- i.e. Swan Lake Ballet Camp the week of August 1st at BLCC is from 9:30-1.  I’m not saying you want to drive between 2 community centers, but if you choose correctly, you can have one kid in camp from 9-12 and one from 9:30-1 and do drop off and pick up yourself.
2) If you have Boys and Girls that both want gender-stereotype activities (don’t get mad at me- it happens!!) Again, using an example from BLCC, the week of the 11th you can hit Jazz Camp and CSI Camp (ages 12+ and 8-12 respectively).  Younger kids? Try SBDCRC’s Princess Camp for your girlie girl, and then hit several of the one-day art and science camps.  It won’t net you an errand day every day for a week, but you can get in 2 or 3 of them!
3) Less picky mixed gender and age kids? Try for the cooking classes or art classes.  Several have a decent span of ages and are easily mixed gender.
4) Serious age mix? Tell me about it.  With a 3, 5, and 7 year old finding options that fit our family is HARD.  You can find options, but they’re not great.  My recommendation? Find a camp 2 of your kids can go to.  Find another camp the same week.  Remember that great friend you met this year with kids the same ages as yours? Divide and conquer, ladies.  Divide and conquer.  One of you drop off the littles and one of you drop off the bigs.  Repeat at pickup.  Have lunch together at the park.  It’ll be fantastic. :)
Just so you all know, this thing was ridiculous.  I’m going to try to get in touch with the park authority to suggest a few things for next year to make camp searching a little bit easier on you (and me, because this may have been the biggest time vacuum ever completed for PWC Moms!!).  In the meantime, I hope this helps.

Summer Lovin....On the Cheap :)

I love a deal.  I think I've swooned over coupon deals more times than y'all should have to put up with! For summer, though, I like to be especially frugal because there are a lot of days to fill between school ending a school starting and only so much money to spend on each one!!

Bowling-
1. AMF Lanes (formerly part of kidsbowlfree.com, which you can try if you're traveling/visiting relatives) is offering 2 free games per kid per day from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Adults can add on 2 games per day for $27.95 (one time fee).  Shoes are not included.  Buy your own and make it free or rent them for $4 a kid.

Movies- (It appears AMC is not doing their summer movie program this year, so I'm including some really inexpensive Fairfax options for those of you willing to drive.  Call AMC and complain, you have my blessing!)
1. Regal Cinemas Summer Movie Express (Manassas and Fairfax locations) is offering 2 G/PG
movies for $1/ticket on Tuesdays/Wednesdays at 10 am.

2. Rave Motion Pictures (Fairfax Corner and Centreville) is still having a FREE summer movie
festival for 8 weeks on Tues/Wed morning at 10am.

3. University Mall Theatres  will be hosting a Summer Cinema Camp from June 20 to September 2nd.  Monday-Friday there will be a 10am family-friendly showing.  Tickets are $2, or, buy a season pass for $11 or a pack of 10 tickets for $15.  Their Tuesday showings are always $2 each for tickets, popcorn, and sodas.

Reading-
1. Barnes and Noble will give your child a free book when they bring in a reading journal showing they read 8.

2. Borders has the same program for ages 12 and under, but you read 10 books.  The link I've provided is to the Krazy Coupon Lady, who has the form that you need to fill out in PDF form.  Scroll down and print it out.

3. Prince William County Library Summer Quest- All ages can earn prizes for reading.  This year it's online and it's FREE :) Registration starts June 1st.

Amusement Parks-
1. Busch Gardens is again offering its free preschool pass! All you have to do is be a Virginia Resident!! Note to my military mommas, you can score free tickets to Busch parks (including Busch Gardens and Sesame Place).

Vacation Bible School-
1. Free or Cheap, have you read our VBS Listings yet? You'd think these churches want people to show up with their prices ;)

Theatre/Arts-
1.  Fairfax County (I'm sorry guys! They just have really great stuff!) Park Authority offers free performances throughout the summer.  I'd recommend the one at Frying Pan Farm Park because your kids will love running around and checking it out afterwards!

2. Wolf Trap has changed its Theater in the Woods presentations so now you get two performances for $8! Check out the schedule and order your tickets early- they sell out! Afterwards, you're almost at Tysons Corner, so you may as well do a little shopping ;)

3. Locust Shade Park (Yay PWC!) offers performances in their ampitheater for $4 per person all summer.

4. There are free concerts throughout the summer at Sean Connaughton Plaza

Swimming-
1. Waterworks Park has a Tot/Parent Swim every Wednesday (Starting June 2) from 9-10:30 for $3.50 per child with parents free.

2. Splashdown will offer a similar program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-10:30 for $4 a child.

Baseball-
The Potomac Nationals offer games for $1 on Mondays, with $1 tickets and $1 hot dogs all night long.

One for my Homies in Bristow/Gainesville

Oh other end of the county people.

I really do love you guys.  One of my dearest friends in the whole world is, in fact, moving to Bristow in the near future.  I may never forgive her for moving to the dark side of the universe visit her often just on the other side of PWC! Then I'll know more for you all to do!!

(By the way, you can email me anytime and I'm happy to add events!! Please share with the class!)

Someone asked for camp options in your neck of the woods.  Here are a few.

4-H PWC offers a camp the 3rd week of July in Front Royal.

Lake Manassas Academy has several camp options and you register by week.  It's $199 but is full time and includes field trips.

The Little Gym of Gainesville offers camp options from 1 day to week long options varying in theme from Tumbling to Cheerleading.

Tiny Dancers in Gainesville hosts weeklong camps but I'm going to be honest with you, these are the most INSANELY priced camps I've ever seen.  It's $200/week and it's for 1/2 day.  But, they look cute and they go as young as 3.

The City of Manassas Park offers an $80 Spring Break camp. I'm not sure how close that is to you all, but I hadn't found it before, so I'm putting it here :)

If you're a Sport and Health Gainesville Member, they offer both Spring Break and Summer Camp.

Golden Boot Soccer offers camps for various levels and interests at various price points, depending on the week and whether or not it's a full-day option.

Clay Cafe Studios in Chantilly offers one day to one week options, but they're also on the expensive
side.

Haymarket Sportsplex offers camps and Wee Camps for $195 a week, 9am-2pm. It's also adjacent to Jump-N-Jimmy's so your kids will get plenty of bounce time, too.

Hope this helps!! Please email me if you've got more ideas!!

Registration is now OPEN for most camps, including the Prince William Park Authority Camps, of which there are FAR too many for me to list here.  Try their website instead. If you have more ideas, please let me know and I'll add them to the list!!

1- Horses
Twin Oaks in Chantilly offers both Summer and Spring Break Camps.  They're not as expensive as I thought they'd be for horseback riding, although definietly not cheap, and they look fun! Riders do not need to have any experience.  Ages 5 and up.

Criswood Farm in Manassas (Near Harris Teeter and the Muslim Center of NVA) will be offering camps every week of the summer for ages 8 and up.

2-Traditional Camp Activity Style
Adventure Links offers both overnight and day camps out of Manassas and Centreville.  They include field trips, rock climbing, sailing, camping, caving, and more. Beginning at age 8 and going through age 18.

A little less adventurous but still traditional- Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association offers a camp for ages 6-12 with field trips, crafts, swimming and sports. Fees vary slightly for LRPRA members and non-members, but not enough that you couldn't sign up with a non-Lake Ridge friend. Both Full Day and Half Day options are available.

3- Younger Children
Gymboree (including the Gymboree in Woodbridge near BJs) will offer Bubble Camp every Friday for ages 3-5 from 9-3.  Children must be "potty independent" to register. Children who register will also be eligible to attend free open gyms on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Kids N Motion will again be offering its camp for ages 3-12.  CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE TO BE POTTY TRAINED FOR THIS CAMP!! I know I always have at least one person looking for that feature!! Both the Woodbridge and Fredericksburg campuses will also offer a spring break camp program that is now registering, as well. This camp is also great because you can register for just 1 day a week all the way up to 5.

4- Older Students Only
GW Community School is offering an INSANELY expensive but very neat looking Robotics Camp for students in High School.  It's in Springfield, but a very cool offering that a parent asked me to find.

George Mason University is offering Babysitter Training at the Freedom Center (PWC). Ages 11-15.

The Freedom Center (PWC) is offering an exercise-themed Teen Dance Party Camp for ages 8-15. Off the same link, George Mason University is offering an intensive Dance Program for ages 16-22 at the Fairfax Campus.

George Mason University is offering Forensics Camp for High Schoolers ages 13-18 at their Fairfax Campus with Forensics faculty members.

George Mason University offers spots in a Summer Writing Enrichment Program for rising 5th-12th graders.  You MUST APPLY FOR A SPOT IN THIS PROGRAM.  Applications are available beginning late March/early April. (Fairfax Campus)

The Potomac Arts Academy is offering Teen Guitar.

5- Academic Enrichment
6- Computers and Electronics
George Mason University offers computing for rising 3rd-8th graders who struggle with writing skills.  The program combines writing skills with computer skills. (Fairfax)

7- Science and Mathematics
The Freedom Center of GMU (PWC) offers both Little Scientist (ages 3-4) and Scientist (ages 6-12 in 2 groups) day camps.  Several sessions are available. Parent participation is required in the Little Scientist Camp.

8- Fine and Performing Arts
ACTING- George Mason University (Fairfax) offers Acting (ages 5-18), Summer Musical Showcase (ages 7-12), Advanced Actors Showcase (ages 12-18).  The Freedom Center (same link) is offering Lights Camera Action for ages 5-8, Drama KinderKids for ages 4-5, DramaKids for ages 6-10,

ACTING- The Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory in Manassas is offering a summer drama program for ages 5 and up through Pied Piper Theatre. Theatre Express!, a performing arts day camp, is available for ages 8-12; Footlights and Fairy Tales provides fun for ages 5-7; and Will Shakespeare’s Excellent Adventure offers unique opportunities for youth 13-18.

ARTS- The Hylton Performing Arts Center (PWC) offers integrated arts programs both AM and PM for ages 3-5 and 5-7.

ARTS- Lorton Workhouse Center for the Arts will be offering summer camps for ages 6 and older in the fine arts throughout the summer.

COOKING- The Freedom Center (PWC) offers cooking camps for ages 4-13 in 3 age groups.

DANCE- The Freedom Center (PWC) offers Dance Camp for ages 5-12. They are also offering Jazz for all ages.

DANCE- Linda's Ballet Workshop plans to offer 2 weeklong sessions in July and August.  These 3 day a week camps are half day and available to children ages 4-12 in 3 age group brackets.

9- Sports Camps
Gymnastics World in Lake Ridge will be offering both full day with before/after care (6am-8pm) and half day camps for ages 4 and up.

Apollo Gymnastics will be offering week long camps beginning in July for ages 5-12.  Half day and full day options are available.

Challenger Sports SOCCER camp for ages 3-14 will be held at the Lake Ridge Fields the last week of June and first week of August and throughout August at the Dale City Rec Center.  Half day and full day options are available.

Karate Camp from Jason Yi's TKD College  is a full day program for ages 5 and up.  After care is available.  The program is normally $219 a week, but there is an unspecified "Early Registration Discount" if you sign up before school ends.

Swimming Camps from Swim Kids are available throughout the summer in locations all over the greater PWC area.  Camps are NOT even half day, but they are a great way to make sure that your child can be confident in the water this summer. (NEVER leave your child unattended in the water)

For other swimming options- not truly camps, but definitely a "keep you busy" option- try the local swim teams, the Amberjax, Frogs, Barracudas, QDD, and Flying Ducks

Free (And Super Cheap!) Summer Options 2010

School's (almost) out for summer, and for some of you in private school, you may already be done!  While there are many camps and day activities out there, my favorite are ALWAYS the freebies!! You may have to make a short drive to get to some of them, or register in advance, but it's worth it for the free entertainment for your classmate-deprived children! And hey, you can even bring a friend for the price ;)

1) Regal Cinemas offers FREE G or PG rated movies each Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am.  Get there early to ensure your seat in the movie you want, because they do go quick.  Here's the link for the list of movies and theaters in Virginia, but their website lists participating theaters all over the country, so if you're looking for rainy day options at the beach in North Carolina or visiting Grammy in Nebraska, you can still take advantage of a free day at the movies! In our experience, many but not all of the theaters who participate in this program also offer a discounted kids' snack pack with a juice box, popcorn, and fruit snacks for a few bucks.

2) Like the ambiance of your local lanes? At KidsBowlFree.com  you can sign your children up to bowl 2 free games PER DAY.  Again, summer is roughly 90 days, so that's 180 free games of bowling! Locally our Dale City AMF offers this program, but this is another nationwide option, so if you know you're traveling, be sure to look up a participating alley nearby! Dale City AMF offers a special $2.99 kids meal to "kids club" members during the promotional free bowling period. For $26.95 up to 4 adults can bowl with their children for the 2 games per day, too.

3) Until 7/11, you can refresh yourselves with a sugar rush courtesy of Taco Bell by printing a coupon for their new Limeade Sparklers.  They look like sugar with more sugar, but hey, it's summer!

4) Not totally free- but close- AMC Summer Movie Club is each Tuesday at 10 AM and features a child-friendly movie for $1.  Kids packs are $4, which is slightly less obnoxious than the regular price ;) and all proceeds go to charity.  Click here for the list of movies.

5) Heading to Williamsburg? Be sure to sign up your preschoolers for a free pass to Busch Gardens!  Click here for more details, and don't forget your whole family gets in for free if you're military!

6) Another not totally free but close- for HOME Monday night games, the Potomac Nationals offer $1 tickets and $1 hot dogs.  Take me out to the ballgame! Click here for the schedule and full list of promotions for the summer!

7) An oldie but a goodie is Summer Quest at the local library! Sign up at any local branch and your child can receive freebies for reading books all summer long!

Have more ideas? Be sure to leave a comment below and we'll get it added!
