4th of July 2018

Manassas Park hosts a free event each year. Celebrate the Fourth of July with FREE shuttles from VRE and City Hall at Signal Hill Park beginning at 6:00pm. There will also be a variety of food trucks. At dusk, you will see an amazing fireworks display! FREE for all to attend!

Historic Manassas has both a free 4th of July event and premier seating at their Rooftop Party. Events begin at 3pm with fireworks at 9:15pm.  Many people watch from Grace UMC- but note that this year their side lot is under construction so seating will be extra limited.

The Dale City 4th of July Parade will be from 10am-12pm(ish) and will end at the Center Plaza Commuter lot where a family fun day will take place from 12-2pm.

Mount Vernon hosts a patriotic display if you’d like a little history with your fireworks.

The Potomac Nationals will have their annual game with fireworks after.  You can hoof it in and set up on the fields outside the stadium, typically, but for the best view, get tickets and enjoy the game, too. Fireworks start when the game ends.

Military? From 4pm-9:30pm check out the fun at Quantico.

You can attempt, but I don’t know much about:
In Dumfries, Montclair does fireworks at Dolphin Beach, but you have to be an MPOA member, so if you live close enough that you can happen to see, you’re in luck, but otherwise that’s all I know.

Great Meadow (many readers love it) charges by the car. Gates open at 4 PM. There will be a huge variety of children’s activities included with your general admission purchase. To list a few: rock wall for climbing, pony rides ($5), moon bounces, slides, the famous rain machine, lasertag, and more! Throughout the day enjoy a choreographed air performance, polo exhibitions, and rocketry demonstrations. A row of food vendors will be on site serving up everything from BBQ to fried dough. The grand finale comes at dark with one of the metropolitan area’s biggest fireworks shows!

DC Fireworks (why would you do this to yourself?) Thrillist has a good guide.
